Rav Chaim Kramer, founder of the Breslov Research Institute, learns the opening lesson of Likutey Moharan, Ashrei Temimei Derech, and asks a hard question: there is more Torah being learned today than in hundreds of years, so why are our tefillos not answered, and why has the chen v’chashivus of Klal Yisrael fallen?

In this shiur:

Noach matza chen: how Torah saved Noach and the whole world
The Rebbe’s lesson in its history: the Czar’s decrees of 1797–1799, and why the Rebbe said no one will listen to us until our chen is raised
Why the world’s gedulah really belongs to Klal Yisrael, and the Exchanged Children (Ma’aseh 11): the rose that must be lifted back up
The four parts of emunah according to Reb Noson, including emunah in yourself, and how Breslov Research began “with nothing”
Yetzer tov vs. yetzer hara: misken v’chacham vs. melech zakein u’ksil
Torah B’Koach: learning with fervor, and learning even when you don’t feel like it
Bringing Hashem into your learning and davening: Torah lishmah
Ches + Nun = Chen, and how they form the Tav: divrei chachamim b’nachas nishma’im
Making divrei chen through praising tzaddikim (Torah 29)
Start with yourself: put your koach into what you can do

Where Is Our Chen? Likutey Moharan Torah 1 with R’ Chaim Kramer | Torah B’Koach shiur 1
This is the second recorded shiur with my chavrusa r' Sruly Schubert

Why do some people's words go straight into your heart, while others' don't land? Rebbe Nachman says the answer is chen. In this shiur on Likutey Moharan Torah 1, we take the word חן apart, letter by letter. In this shiur: • Chen and chashivus: what we lost through our aveiros, and how the Torah, the "ayeles chen," lifts it back up • The ches (ח) is chochmah: the Godliness and chiyus inside every davar we meet. Nothing in our life is random. Every encounter is a light on the runway, showing us the path to Hashem • The nun (נ) is malchus, the moon: it has no light of its own, only what it receives. When nothing stands between the moon and the sun, it shines like the sun. Humility and letting go of ego are what line us up • Yaakov and Esav: why Yaakov really was the bechor, and what "vayivez Esav es habechorah" means for us • The yetzer tov, "poor but wise," and the yetzer hara, "an old foolish king." Two nations inside every one of us, and "when one rises, the other falls" • "If this menuval meets you, drag him to the beis medrash": the Torah is the koach that lines up the nun with the ches • When ches and nun connect, we radiate chen, and all our tefillos and bakashos are accepted, before people and before the Borei Olam The shiur closes with a niggun: V'shavu Banim. Torah Doesn’t Just Mean Learning
In Shiur 8 of our journey through Rebbe Nachman's story of the Lost Princess, the viceroy finally finds her. She's no longer just trapped in the place of lo tov; she has become its queen.

We begin with the idea of the Tzaddik HaEmes: how the infinite connects to the finite through the Torah and through the tzaddik who nullifies himself. We look at the five tzaddikim given this title: Moshe Rabbeinu, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, the Arizal, the Baal Shem Tov and Rebbe Nachman.

Then we go word by word through the meeting:
• הציצה: the soul peeks out, and we squash the inspiration
• ועמדה מכסאה: getting off the "throne" of comfort we built inside our discomfort
• ונגעה בו: the poke of inspiration that keeps coming back
• "את היא הבת מלך שנאבדה": the tzaddik sees who we really are beneath the disguise
• "My father, the king": blaming Hashem without knowing the Father's pain

Three lessons for the week:

 1. We are often in the place of lo tov without knowing it.
 2. Real change starts when you get off the throne.
 3. Listen to the poke before it becomes a push, a slap or a zetz.

This is What Wisdom Means
Chochmah isn’t about getting to and seeing everything. It’s about letting it change us internally!
You’re Chasing Everything… But Missing THIS!
| R’ Moshe Chaim Eade — Likutei Moharan Shiur 4

What if everything in your life—even the smallest, most ordinary experience—contains a hidden light waiting to be discovered?

In Shiur 4 of Likutei Moharan, Torah Alef, R’ Moshe Chaim Eade explores one of Rebbe Nachman's most transformative teachings: “להסתכל בהשכל של כל דבר”—to look for the Divine wisdom hidden within everything.

Rebbe Nachman teaches that our world is filled with opportunities to discover Hashem. Every encounter, every challenge, and every moment carries a deeper spiritual dimension. But how do we move beyond simply knowing that Hashem is present to actually experiencing His light in our lives?

Through the profound relationship between Yaakov and Esav, R’ Moshe Chaim explains the difference between living for the external beauty of this world and discovering the inner purpose behind everything.

We explore how Chochmah represents the life-giving light of Divine wisdom, why Yaakov's bechorah symbolizes the search for the true beginning of all things, and how recognizing the hidden seichel can illuminate our path toward Hashem.

In this shiur:
- Finding the seichel sheb'chol davar—the hidden wisdom within everything
- The difference between seeing Hashem's presence and understanding His message
- How to transform ordinary experiences into opportunities for closeness to Hashem
- Why Yaakov represents Pnimiyus and Esav represents Chitzoniyus
- The deeper meaning of the bechorah, Chochmah, and Reishis
- Discovering the inner light and vitality of Torah
- Why Divine wisdom must be integrated into everyday life
- Understanding the letter ח as the source of Chiyus—spiritual vitality

Discover how to move beyond the surface of life and begin seeing the Divine light that gives meaning, purpose, and vitality to everything.

Exposing the Lies of This world & the truth They've Been Hiding
| R’ Yirmi Ginsberg — Torah Alef Shiur 2

What if the real purpose of tefillah isn't getting what we ask for, but building a genuine connection with Hashem?

In Shiur 2 on Likutei Moharan, Torah Alef, R’ Yirmi Ginsberg explores Rebbe Nachman's profound teachings on the relationship between Torah, tefillah, and chein—the Divine grace that elevates our connection to Hashem.

Rebbe Nachman teaches that through Torah, our tefillos and requests are received. But what does it actually mean for a prayer to be accepted? And is Torah simply about learning more, or is there a deeper dimension of understanding and living according to Hashem's will?

Through a careful exploration of Rebbe Nachman's words, R’ Yirmi reveals how the Avos lived with an awareness of Hashem's will even before the giving of the Torah, and why genuine spiritual growth requires us to look beyond the surface of religious practice.

At the heart of the shiur is the concept of seichel sheb'chol davar—the Divine wisdom and vitality hidden within everything, including tefillah itself.

When we stop treating davening as a way to simply receive what we want and begin experiencing it as an opportunity for deveikus, our entire relationship with Hashem can change.

In this shiur:
- What it really means for our tefillos to be accepted
- The deeper relationship between Torah, chein, and tefillah
- Why Torah is more than intellectual learning
- Finding the seichel and Divine vitality within everything
- The four stages of connecting to Hashem through everyday experiences
- Yaakov Avinu, Chochmah, and the light of Divine wisdom
- The difference between tefillah and personal requests
- Transforming davening from routine words into genuine deveikus

Discover how to bring greater meaning, vitality, and connection into your Torah learning, your tefillos, and your everyday life.

You're Davening Every Day — But Are You Connecting to Hashem?
When We Learn Torah We Reveal What’s Best Inside of Us
After seventy years asleep, the viceroy wakes up and asks, heichan ani ba'olam, "Where am I in the world?" Those words can sound like giving up. Sung with a different niggun, they become the strongest chizuk there is.

In this chaburah on Rebbe Nachman's story of the Lost Princess, we read the scene of the kerchief written in tears and look at why the servant answers so differently after each fall. First the viceroy goes to her. Then she comes to him, shakes him, and still can't wake him.

We also learn:
• Why every hirhur teshuvah is the lost princess calling from inside you, and why we keep squashing it
• Hashem's Ayekah to Adam: knowing where you are before you start again
• The "shmutziger Ribbono Shel Olam" and why the outlet is always on the bottom
• Why a plugged-in toaster oven is worth more than an unplugged supercomputer

• Korban, the Hebrew word for victim, and letting go of blaming the messenger
• B'simcha has the letters of machshavah: joy is a state, not a feeling, and its source is your chelek Elokah mima'al

We close by taking on Tikkun HaKlali together and davening for one another.

The Lost Princess, Shiur 24: Where Am I in the World? The Kerchief, the Outlet is on the bottom
This is the first recorded shiur on torah Alef with my chavrusa r' Sruly Schubert may he have a refuah sheleyma Bimheyra
What makes a prayer get accepted? In the first shiur on Likutey Moharan Torah 1, we learn Rebbe Nachman's opening teaching: "Da, ki al yedei haTorah niskablin kol hatefillos v'chol habakashos." Through Torah, all our prayers and requests are accepted.

This shiur gives the map of the Torah without getting lost in diyukim. We learn it in its simple meaning and try to take it inside.

In this shiur:
• Ashrei temimei derech: why simplicity is wholeness, and why chochmos can get in the way of avodas Hashem
• The difference between tefillah and bakashah: tefillah is connection
• Daas, emunah, and yediah: seeing the Godliness beneath the surface
• Giving, receiving, and taking: how the yetzer hara turns both the giver and the receiver into takers
• What chen really is, and why it isn't just "charm" or "grace"
• Ayeles ahavim v'ya'alas chen: how Torah brings chen to those who learn it

• Look for the seichel in everything: like the emergency floor lights on a plane, every encounter lights the way
• Yaakov Avinu and the bechorah: tracing everything back to its reishis
• The sun, the letter ches, and chiyus
• The nun of chen: become a receiver like the moon, and the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun

When we stop taking and become real receivers, with no ego and nothing of our own, we connect the nun to the ches and get the chen that makes all our tefillos accepted.

Ashreinu!

How to Get Chen: Becoming a Receiver Like the Moon | Likutey Moharan Torah 1, Shiur 1 Basic 1
This is the first recorded shiur with my chavrusa r' Sruly Schubertmay he have a refuah sheleyma bimheyra into to Torah Alef

Before learning the first Torah in Likutey Moharan, we hear the stories behind it.

A man came to Rebbe Nachman in Medvedevka and complained that his prayers weren't being answered. He saw it because he had no chen or chashivus among the people of his town, who didn't respect his long davening. The Rebbe told him to learn something right after davening, Mishnah or Gemara, and promised that his tefillah would be accepted and that he would find chen in the eyes of Hashem and people.

The man came back: "My learning doesn't light my way like the sun." The Rebbe answered: "If only it would light for you at least like the moon first. Then it will shine like the sun."

When he came a third time, full of simcha, the Rebbe revealed this Torah and said: "Vos hot a mentsh tsu ton af der velt? Nor davnen, un lernen, un davnen." What does a person have to do in this world? Only davnen, learn, and davnen.

• Why the first 15 Torahs of Likutey Moharan are on the stories of Rabbah bar bar Chanah, and how Rabbah bar bar Chanah himself came to the Rebbe and asked him to reveal their secrets
• Why Reb Nosson didn't hear Ashrei Temimei Derech directly from the Rebbe, and how he put the text together
• "Davnen, learn, and davnen": why not "learn, davnen, and learn"?
• The three visits of the man from Medvedevka: chen, the sun, and the moon
• Learn Torah b'koach, in simplicity, and the yetzer hara will be subdued
• Reb Nosson's own struggle: losing his chen with his family after coming close to the Rebbe, and how this Torah fixed everything
• "Going with a Torah": turning the learning into tefillah and hisbodedus

We should merit to keep this Torah in complete simplicity, to learn and to do.
